Scaffolding Sculptures – The Monster Bike

Scaffolding Sculptures – The Monster Bike

To most people, scaffolding is seen as a building and construction necessity. However, those within the industry have the ability to come up with unique and innovative scaffolding solutions. The ‘Monster’ Bike by Tony Welsby is a prime example of the sculptural potential that scaffolding provides creative minds. Standing 15 feet high and 26 feet long, the sculpture is hard to miss. Using 3000 feet (approx. 915 metres) of scaffold tube and 2500 scaffold fittings, the sculpture weighs in at a staggering 7 tonnes of steel. The final sculpture is breathtaking and goes to show there are multiple applications of scaffolding beyond building and construction. Those with the product skill and knowledge can design solutions to meet the most challenging of projects. Sitemax would love to hear about your most interesting project experiences.
