Cloth tape (available in 48mm and 96mm widths) is used to reinforce seams and patch tears, while Shrinkclad white shrink tape — with a serrated edge for easy tearing — is heat-welded to bond overlapping sheets into a single, drum-tight barrier.

How do I fix shrink wrap to scaffolding?

Shrink wrap is attached to the scaffold structure using metal or PVC spring clips, which clamp the sheeting directly to the frame without punching holes in the film. For larger fixing points or extra hold in high-wind areas, a 50 x 50mm spring clamp gives a stronger mechanical fix.

What's the difference between cloth tape and shrink tape?

Cloth tape is a general-purpose adhesive tape used for patching, reinforcing edges, and quick repairs on site. Shrink tape is purpose-built for heat-sealing shrink wrap seams — it's designed to bond permanently under the heat gun, creating a weathertight join rather than just a surface patch. Most installations use both: shrink tape for seams, cloth tape for repairs and reinforcement.

Can I use double-sided tape to install shrink wrap?

Yes. Double-sided adhesive sealing tape (available in 25mm and 50mm widths) is commonly used to temporarily hold shrink wrap in position before heat sealing, or to seal edges where a heat-welded join isn't practical — such as around irregular scaffold sections.

How do I seal shrink wrap around hoses, pipes or ducting?
